Each year, close to 200 Communication and Culture students participate in community service learning, collaborating with such diverse organizations as the Calgary Zoo, Calgary Drop-In Centre, and Calgary Health Region.
Community service learning (CSL) is a form of experiential learning in which students, enrolled in a credit course, integrate a community service activity with related course content. These course projects involve students working to assist a nonprofit community organization or initiative, usually with a research or writing project, as they build subject-area knowledge and skills.
