Student clubs provide a great way to get involved in interesting subjects; explore academic and professional connections; and socialize with other cool students in and outside of the faculty.
Visit the new Communication and Culture clubs space in Social Sciences 231 or check out the websites listed below. Can't find a club that sparks your interest? Consider starting your own!
Development Studies Club
The Development Studies Club (DSC) is a group of students from all faculties with a passion for social justice and motivation to do something about it. DSC seeks to educate and raise awareness of local and international social issues by hosting events that promote peace, equality, justice, accountability, and sustainability.
Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Science and Innovation (IPSI)
IPSI is an interdisciplinary academic and social group aimed at bringing students from all backgrounds together to discuss and address important issues in science and technology. The founders were seeking a community environment, centered on real discussion of real issues for real people. IPSI Interest Events include:
The Real on the Reel: A showing of movies, open to everyone, related to different social themes. Our hope is that this will create an avenue for addressing some of the important issues we all face.
The Real Perspective: A progression of books throughout the year, with undergraduate, graduate and faculty coming together to create an environment where issues about technology and science can be discussed.
